Q: Do I have to request my official transcripts or will CTC Online High School do it for me?

A: You will have to request copies of your official transcripts because your high school will not release transcripts directly to us. A transcript request form is available for download. If you are having problems getting your official transcript, contact us and we will help you.

Q: Can my previous school(s) fax my official transcript to you?

A: Yes, as long as it has an official school cover page on it.  Our fax number is (254) 526-1819.

Q: I have a GED, but I want a high school diploma. What do I need to do?

A: You can receive high school course credits for completing your GED by having an official transcript of your scores sent to CTC Online High School. These scores, along with any high school transcripts, will be evaluated to determine additional courses needed to receive a diploma.

Q: I was home schooled. Will those credits count?

A: Home school transcripts are evaluated in much the same way as traditional transcripts. If you have any questions, please call Central Texas College Online High School at: (254) 526-1321

Q: Do you require any pretests before I enroll?

A: We don’t require pretests for admission.

Q: Is there any homework for the class?

A: Labs, assignments, and projects are included in the curriculum and vary from course to course. You will need to read the modules carefully and complete all activities and assignments as you complete each lesson.

Q: What if I need help with my class?

A: Our teachers are available through Moodle, e-mail, Skype, or by phone. The instructor will send an introductory email at the beginning of your class. In the email they will let you know the best way to contact them and the times they are available for questions. All other school related inquiries should be directed to: customerservice@ctcohs.com.

Q: Can parents check on their child’s grades or attendance?

A: Parents of minors may check on their child’s grades or progress. Adult students may sign a release, allowing someone (such as a spouse) access to the student’s login.

Q: What are the system requirements for accessing CTC Online High School courses?

A: Our courses are available from any platform, desktop, or mobile. If you are unsure about your system, check the System Requirement chart. If you have any questions about these requirements, please contact our Technical Support Team at 1-800-792-3348, ext. 1129.

Q: How many classes can I take at one time?

A: We recommend enrolling in no more than five classes at any given time. You may decide to stagger your enrollment days to make it easier to budget for the class or plan your time. Courses vary in size and degree of difficulty. We will advise you to help you create a workable schedule.

Q: How long will I have to complete a class?

A: You have 16 weeks to complete each course from the date you first enroll.

Q: Are there required times for me to log on or come to the classroom?

A: No, the material is available at any time, and you can work at your own pace. Establishing a regular schedule for your studies will help you succeed. If we see that there hasn’t been any activity for an extended period of time, we may contact you or the parents/guardians of minor students to see if there is a problem.

Q: How are tests administered?

A: Review and practice tests are taken on your home computer, as are module tests. Feedback is immediate, allowing you the chance to review the questions missed. Midterm and final exams must be administered by a proctor at an approved site. CTC Online High School is not responsible for any fees that may be associated with the proctor. Proctor Application Forms are available for download, as are explicit Proctor Requirements. We administer exams onsite for students in Killeen, Texas area.

Q: How many high school credits do I need to take with CTC Online High School to get a diploma?

A: To receive a diploma from CTC Online High School, you must complete at least 25% of your coursework with us. The exact credits or number of courses depend upon the program (Foundation/Endorsements, Recommended, or Minimum).

Q: Will I get a real diploma?

A: CTC Online High School will issue a bona fide diploma recognized by the State of Texas.

Q: Will my CTC Online High School diploma be accepted for military enlistment?

A: Yes, we are a Tier 1 school and our diplomas are accepted by the military.

Q: How long will it take to complete my education at CTC Online High School?

A: Because our curriculum is self-paced, the completion time depends on your motivation and the amount of time you are willing or able to devote to your studies.

Q: Will I need to pay the entire tuition before I begin?

A: No, you will be charged for classes as you enroll in them. The cost for each class is $150 per half credit.  Generally all courses require two classes to be successfully completed in order to receive one credit. We recommend that you enroll in no more than five classes at a time.

Q: Will I be required to buy a textbook or supplies?

A: Most of the course work is self-contained, but some classes may require additional materials or texts. Check the Tuition and Fees page for more information. All materials may be ordered through ctcohs.customerservice@ctcd.edu .
