Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) In compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, information classified as “directory information” (see below for explanation of directory information) may be disclosed to the general public without prior written consent from a student (or parent as applicable) unless CTC Online High School is notified in writing by the student. The request may be submitted at any time; however, CTC Online High School will not be responsible for the release of directory information prior to receiving the written request to withhold such information. This statement of nondisclosure will remain on the student’s records unless the request to withhold directory information is canceled. Once the written request of nondisclosure is received, the student may request, in writing, on an item-by-item basis (such as a transcript release for employment purposes), the release of directory or non-directory information, or request that all directory information be released thereafter. Access to any other records by persons other than the student (or parent as applicable) will be limited to those persons or entities authorized by the statute. Records will be maintained of persons granted such access. Students may inspect and review their educational records upon request to the appropriate record custodian.
